Tim and I married on September 18th at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Our love story is as unlikely as they come - he grew up in Hong Kong and Australia, while I grew up in a small town in North Georgia. Our relationship blossomed in undergrad at Emory University. I first started dreaming of our wedding when we moved to DC together after graduation, even though it would be another three years before he proposed. When the day finally came, I was more than ready to start planning on a rainy evening in front of Tower Bridge in London.
I went to several bridal salons in Atlanta with my mom and Maid of Honor, convinced I wanted a big ball gown with tulle and lace. Early on in my search, I was drawn to the elegance of Anne Barge's classic satin gowns and quickly realized I needed to go directly to the Anne Barge Bridal Atelier to find "the" dress. I fell in love with a custom dress in a dreamy crepe fabric that made me want to twirl like a little girl. Seeing my dress come to life during the process was one of my favorite parts of wedding planning. When I put on the Vow Veil at one of my fittings, it finally hit me that the moment was almost here.
Our wedding was not without its challenges. However, the morning of the wedding, I felt all of the good emotions. Happiness because it was the first time our families had met. Giddiness because I spent the day getting ready with my mom and future mother-in-law, bridesmaids, and vendors who became friends. But above all, joy because I was marrying my best friend, at my dream venue, in my dream dress. While walking down the stairs of the Swan House without tripping in my long train and heels was a harrowing experience - it was well worth it. I could not be more grateful that the Anne Barge Bridal Atelier was a part of my experience.
